The Friends of Eastern Cemetery in conjunction with Western Library present the next edition of our ongoing series “The Figures of Louisville’s Eastern Cemetery.” This program will focus on African Americans in the medical profession. Figures featured will be Mary Merritt and Betha Thomas, who were among the first African American RNs in Kentucky. We will also highlight three doctors: Dr. John A.C. Lattimore, Dr. Orville Ballard, and Dr. William H. Pickett. Each of these men worked in a different medical field and influenced their respective neighborhoods and Louisville as a whole. The music of Florence Price is experiencing a renaissance of new appreciation in concert halls across America, but as a black woman in the early 20th century, she was frequently overlooked by publishers and performers. Featuring Price's Symphony No. 3, this concert celebrates the past and current contributions of black composers to the canon of great American symphonic music. Other works will include Liquify by composer Michael Abels (film score composer for Us and Get Out) and works by Haitian-American composer Julio Racine.

To report a new issue, follow these steps:

- For City, type in Louisville and select “Louisville Jefferson County Metro Government”
- Program developers suggest you now “sign up” for an account in top right corner. This will allow the system to track all requests. You can also choose not to sign up, which will let you make service requests anonymously.
- To report an issue, select the issue or type something into the search box. Then select issue.
- Next fill out the series of questions. You can enter an actual address or drag and drop the pin on the map to the location.Please be sure to check the address to ensure it’s a valid address.
- Include all details in the description and click submit.
