A Message from Nicole George

Happy New Year District 21! It is hard to imagine a year has already passed. The theme for 2019 was community engagement, as it gets the credit for any gains made in the last 12 months.

Our first newsletter of the new year is devoted to highlighting some of the many improvements that occurred in the community in 2019. To be clear, this is not a list of what your Council Office has done. This is a list of what the community has done working with neighbors, Metro agencies, and the Council Office. All of these improvements started by someone in the community vocalizing a concern, working with others to help identify the problem and volunteer their time in some capacity.

The goal of this edition is to feature just a snapshot of the work happening in the community to start the conversation. As you read through please note the good work that happened that is not listed. Also note what is missing. As you read through, please consider what could be done with even more community engagement and an adequately sourced local government in FY2021 (July 2020-June 2021).

I look forward to hearing your feedback!

-Nicole
