The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. weekend brought out the best in a lot of us as we gathered to recall King’s legacy and words of wisdom. Margaret Harris, Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Ellis, Donna and the Falcon mascot from Simmons College of Kentucky celebrated MLK and the four most powerful words ever spoken together: “I have a dream!”

The Russell Homeownership Incentive Program is an exciting opportunity to be a homeowner in a neighborhood rich with history. If you meet the following criteria, this program is for you!
- Interested in being a homeowner and residing in the Russell Homeownership Incentive Area
- Committed to keeping the house as your primary residence for five years.
- Excited about making up to $24,999 in qualified improvements to your home. Participants must be approved prior to repairs being made and any cost over $24,999 will be the responsibility of the homeowner and paid in full prior to Louisville Metro Government (LMG) paying the remaining cost.
- Willing to complete homeownership counseling, if a first-time homebuyer.
- Willing to conduct a lead inspection on the property if it was built prior to 1978. LMG can help provide contact information of qualified companies.

MetroCall has switched to a new Metro311 reporting system for the general public. You can now report issues, track issues, view past issues, comment on issues, and more from one site. Please visithttp://iframe.publicstuff.com/.
To report a new issue, follow these steps:
- Visit http://iframe.publicstuff.com/
- For City, type in Louisville and select “Louisville Jefferson County Metro Government”
- Program developers suggest you now “sign up” for an account in top right corner. This will allow the system to track all requests. You can also choose not to sign up, which will let you make service requests anonymously.
- To report an issue, select the issue or type something into the search box. Then select issue.
- Next fill out the series of questions. You can enter an actual address or drag and drop the pin on the map to the location.Please be sure to check the address to ensure it’s a valid address.
- Include all details in the description and click submit.
Play around with the new system to become familiar with all the great features. You can now track other people’s service requests and the system will keep them in your account. Please let our office know if you have any issues.

If you see a streetlight out in your neighborhood (or anywhere in Louisville), please note the address and report it to LG&E for repair. Click here to fill out the online form to report broken or malfunctioning streetlights. We always recommend adding your contact information to the request, so a technician who has questions can contact you. LG&E makes repairs during the day. Make sure you follow up if the streetlight hasn’t been repaired within seven (7) days.
