There is no garbage, junk or recycling collection on Monday, January 20 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday.
Collection will resume Tuesday, January 22 and will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week. (Example: residents that have a Monday pickup will have collection on Tuesday.)

National Processing Center (NPC) is the U.S. Census Bureau's primary center for mail processing, survey processing, data capture, imaging/scanning and warehouse operations. A U.S. Census Bureau’s representative will be available to share information about the hundreds of entry-level office and warehouse clerks employment opportunities for the Jeffersonville location. NPC recently increased the starting hourly pay rate for entry level clerks to $14.54 per hour. For additional information call 485-7130.

From January 20 - March 27, yard waste will be collected on your normal day BY REQUEST ONLY. Call 311 or 574-5000 to request yard waste collection. Regular yard waste collection will resume the week of March 30. |
Metro is accepting loose leaf drop-off's until January 31st. Containers used to bring leaves to the drop-off sites must be disposed of off-site by residents.
DROP OFF LOCATIONS Tuesday-Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Waste Reduction Center will close at 3 p.m. on Saturdays through January 31st.

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) begins Jan. 6 and runs through March 31, or until available funds have been expended.
To apply, residents must schedule an appointment utilizing the automated appointment system. Beginning Dec. 30, 2019, appointments can be scheduled by phone by calling 502-991-8391 or online at louisvilleky.cascheduler.com. The toll-free service is currently open and is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

 Councilman Triplett is participating in the discounted recycle cart program with Solid Waste. District 15 residents benefit! The 95-gallon and 65-gallon recycling carts are available for District 15 residents for only $25 -- this is a 50% discount. Due to the change in KY tax code, we must now charge sales tax on the value of the item - therefore the total for the cart is $28 - $25 for the cart and $3.00 for tax. To order your recycle cart call Solid Waste Management (SWMS) at 574-3571 or download the form here:

The Louisville Metro Waste Reduction Center at (636 Meriwether Avenue) provides a means for all Louisville/Jefferson County residents to properly dispose of tires and household bulk waste including metals, appliances, electronics, tree limbs and stumps up to three feet in diameter, unbagged yard waste, construction debris and furniture. *Up to three household junk items may be dropped off at no charge per day. If there are more than three items a fee will be charged according. For additional information call 574-3570.
