Olmsted Parks Trail Study Survey

Publication1

Are you the kind of park visitor who enjoys taking the path less traveled? Olmsted Parks Conservancy is in the middle of a trail study to learn how we can better control soil erosion and improve our natural trails in Cherokee, Iroquois and Seneca – making the escape into nature better for both the park and the visitor. We want to know, how do you use the natural trails? Whether you run, hike, bike, or walk your dog on the trails in our Olmsted Parks, you can help us with our study by filling out this 15 minute survey:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OlmstedParksTrails

Urban Seasonal High Tunnels

Publication1

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service is once again taking applications for seasonal high tunnels (hoop houses) that work towards extending the growing season for gardeners and vegetable producers. These metal-framed plastic-covered growing areas allow producers to plant early - like February - and extend their growing seasons well into winter. Applications taken now are for the 2020 growing season. To find out how you can qualify for this program, coupled with the Jefferson County Conservation District, contact Kurt Mason, Urban Conservationist for Kentucky at (859) 490-0113 or kurt.mason@ky.usda.gov.
