Schnitzelburg Area Community Council Movie Night

Movie night

A sweet and spooky movie, Casper, entertained young and old Saturday at the Schnitzelburg Area Community Council Movie Night Saturday. Above, folks watched the friendly ghost on an outdoor screen under the stars.

The Dairy Del again hosted the event, and created a special Casper treat for the occasion. A bouncy house and castle kept the kids occupied before the show. Thanks to SACC for letting us share these photos.

Congratulations to Ernst Pierre on the opening of his Open Caribbean Kitchen

Opening of Open Caribbean Kitchen

Ernst Pierre and Mayor Greg Fischer cut the grand opening ribbon Friday morning, assisted by Jessica Morgan, President of Chef Space, and the team at Open Caribbean Kitchen.

Open Caribbean Kitchen

District 10 has a new eatery - Open Caribbean Kitchen at 4735 Poplar Level Road. Ernst Pierre, who moved to the U.S. from Haiti when he was 10, recently moved to the location from Chef Space

Pierre wanted to bring the fresh tastes of the Caribbean to Louisville, and learned at Chef Space about running a business. Chef Space is a food business accelerator located in Louisville’s West End that provides commercial kitchen space and business training for entrepreneurs to start food‐related ventures.

This morning was the grand opening of the restaurant.
