St. James Court Art Show

St. James Court Art Show is consistently ranked in the country's top 10 shows (Sunshine Artist Magazine, 2019; ArtFairCalendar.com,2019), and has more than 5 million dollar economic economic impact on the city of Louisville.  The St. James Court Art Show remains the pride of the Old Louisville neighborhood.  Boasting the largest collection of Victorian homes in the country, historic Old Louisville is an elegant backdrop for this display of fine arts and crafts. 

Visitors can expect to encounter a tasteful selection of high quality original works that cater to all artistic preferences and budgets. 

Admission to the pet-free events is free, and the event is held rain or shine.  The St. James Court Art Show is open from 10:00am to 6:00pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 10:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday during the first full weekend in October annually.

St. James Court Show High School Scholarship Gallery Showing and Reception

Where:  University of Louisville Cressman Center for Visual Arts Gallery  100 E. Main St. Louisville KY 40202.

Who:  Student participants, their family, teachers and University of Louisville and St. James Court Art Show staff

What:  The St. James Court Association and the University of Louisville present the St. James Court High School Scholarship Gallery Showing and Award Reception. All students who participated in the 2019 scholarship competition will have their art entries on display at the University of Louisville Cressman Center for Visual Arts Gallery.  The Gallery will display all of this year’s student art entries from September 11-20, 2019 during normal business hours. This is a wonderful opportunity for each student to have their art on display for many to stop by and view.  This is the 47th year since St. James Court Association awarded the first scholarship. It continues to grow and help young adults achieve their goal in the arts. The scholarships available for the 2019 competition total $45,000.

UofL's Season of Black Plays: Zomo the Rabbit

Zomo the Rabbit: A Hip Hop Creation Myth, is a remix of a West African trickster tale. Zomo, a young rapping rabbit on a quest for power, learns the creative value of cooperation and unwittingly creates the culture of hip-hop. This interactive show fuses hip-hop music, playful costumes and Louisvillian landmarks that are sure to entertain and engage young people. In addition, our production includes a study guide with teaching strategies and a talkback to support the themes of the show.
