Property Tax Help Available through LHOME
Property Tax bills will be mailed to homeowners on November 1. If you know now that there will be a financial hardship created in paying that tax bill, there is help available. If you act BEFORE the end of November, you may even take advantage of a 2% discount on the bill.
LHOME spreads the repayment over 12 to 24 months. To qualify for this loan you must be the owner and occupant of the property being taxed and you must have a source of income which will allow repayment over time.
LHOME may also help answer questions about homestead and disability exemptions, if you qualify and have not previously applied.

District 21 Speed Hump Update
The following streets have been approved for speed humps and have funding from the District 21 Council Office allocated towards installation.
- Downes Ln
- Homestead Dr
- Meridale Ave
Justification: These streets had Council Office funding allocated for speed humps because the street is either a cut through or has no sidewalk.
The following streets have been approved for speed humps and are awaiting funding allocation.
Note: The District 21 Council Office will not be allocating any more capital infrastructure funds for speed hump installation during fiscal year 2020 (July 2019-June 2020).
For more information about the speed hump process, please call the District 21 Council Office (502-574-1121) during normal business hours. If you leave a voicemail, someone will call you back within 24 hours.

Danny Wimmer Presents Concert Festival Series Impacts
Hometown Rising Music Festival will be at the Highland Festival Grounds at the KY Expo Center (Old Executive East Property) on Sept. 14-15.
Neighbors: please plan accordingly
Phillips Lane will be closed to vehicular traffic from Freedom Way/Gate 1 to the I-65 overpass near Preston Hwy from Sept. 8 through Oct. 1.
Festival goers who are not staying at a Phillip Lane hotel will only be allowed to enter the concerts at KY Expo Gates 2, 4, and/or 6.
Neighbors in the surrounding area should expect peak music level noise around 8pm to 11:30pm on concert nights.

Become a District 21 Brightside Volunteer
Are you interested in getting exercise and keeping your community safe and clean? Email Rachel Roarx to claim your hot spot area today!
Commitment: Twice per month you and a partner would clean a hot spot near your home. You would also assist in a quarterly assessment of the litter at a specific hot spot.
Expectation: You would only be expected to clean or assess the area for about 20 minutes. This commitment would run through the end of the year.

Second Annual Art in City Hall Exhibit (Submissions Needed) Selected local artists will have their works put on display for one year in Historic City Hall
“Art in City Hall” works in partnership with the Commission on Public Art to use the public lobby areas and hallways of all three floors in Historic City Hall as a display area to showcase visual arts.
The opportunity is open to all artists of any race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality or disability working in Louisville/Jefferson County.
Interested artists should submit an application online at https://louisvilleky.gov/government/public-art. There is no entry fee.
Each artist selected to exhibit their work will receive a $500 honorarium. The Art in City Hall exhibit will take place over October 2019 to September 2020.
- The deadline for submitting works of art is September 8th
- The finalists will be announced in October 2019.
