Metro Council sends proposed ordinance to improve upon the regulations of itinerant vendors, peddlers and solicitors back to committee
Yesterday evening, Metro Council members sent the plan regarding regulations of itinerant vendors, peddlers and solicitors back to the Public Works Committee to answer further questions and likely consider additional revisions.
The current plan wouldn't restrict trucks to specific vending zones, but it would spell out where trucks can store fuel, how noisy they can be and how many spots a vendor can reserve on each city block, among other changes.
No trash or recycling pickup Labor Day
Typically on holidays, trash and recycling pickup has been delayed by one day, but because of budget cuts, residents will have to wait longer for their trash and recycling to be picked up. The budget cuts were implemented on July 1, and the new policy takes effect on the upcoming Labor Day holiday.
People whose trash or recycling pickup days fall on the actual holiday won't get service at all that week. Those residents will have to wait until the next normal pickup day before the city picks up the garbage.
Residents who rely on private haulers for garbage, recycling and yard waste collection should consult those haulers about holiday collection schedules.
