District 10 news

LMPD reminder: Please secure your property

A reminder from Major Mike Bogan, Commander of Louisville Metro Police Department's Sixth Division:

"I am reading a lot of reports of vehicles being broken into and firearms being taken. A good portion of these vehicles are left unlocked with valuables in plain sight.

I am also noticing a vast amount of vehicles being stolen with the keys left in them. In many cases, the vehicles were left running.

My officers will continue to patrol in search of criminal activity. It is important for people to take steps in securing their property."

So please take that extra moment to lock your vehicle, and remove any and all keys, key fobs and firearms from vehicles.

Yard waste collection delayed

From Solid Waste Management Services:

Due to equipment and personnel shortages, yard waste collection is behind schedule this week. Residents should set out yard waste on the usual day at the usual time, though collection may be two to four days delayed.

This message was also distributed through the Recycle Coach app, which is available for free on the App Store or Google Play.
