Electric Fans Needed!

With the arrival of warmer temperatures, KIPDA and Louisville Metro collecting electric fans for seniors and persons with physical disabilities.  The fans will be distributed to qualified individuals within the KIPDA region including Jefferson, Bullitt, Henry, Shelby, Oldham, Spencer, and Trimble Counties. Donations of new box fans will be collected through June 3rd at:    KIPDA, 11520 Commonwealth Drive (Lou., KY 40299)    WLKY Studio, 1918 Mellwood Ave. (Lou, KY 40206)

Drop off hours are Monday through Friday; 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Honor Flight Bluegrass “Operation Bravo Zulu” to Honor Veterans on 75th D-Day Anniversary - June 6th

June 6th marks the 75th anniversary of Operation Overland, more commonly referred to as D Day.  To honor these American heroes, a celebration is scheduled at Louisville Memorial Auditorium.  “Operation Bravo Zulu”, will feature honored guest, 95-year-old WWII Medal of Honor recipient, Hershel “Woody” Williams. He will lead the ceremony with 75 or more WWII Veterans and their families as we recognize and pay tribute to these members of the “Greatest Generation.”
   Dale Faughn, a Marine WWII Veteran and Kentucky’s Poet Laureate, will address attendees with a special 75th Anniversary D-Day poem. French Consul-General, Guillaume Lacroix, will offer remarks for this occasion, as well as other state and local dignitaries.
   Each WWII Veteran will receive commemorative gifts. The public is invited to join these Veterans and their families for the ceremony followed by a meet and greet. Doors open to the public at 6 p.m. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased through the Louisville Memorial Auditorium website at www.louisvillememorialauditorium.com.

Sign up for the Junior Falls Cities Championships at Iroquois Golf Course

DATES: June 24-28th
DEADLINE: 160 players or June 20th, 2019 (9:00 PM) LOCATION: Iroquois Golf Course (All Divisions)
FORMAT: Stroke play qualifying event on June 24th. Match play based on qualifying score beginning Tuesday June 25th and continues daily with championship matches to be held Friday June 28th.
Divisions: 1) 12-18 Girls Division (18-holes) 2) 12-18 Boys Division (18-holes) 3) 12-13 Boys/Girls Division (9-holes) 4) 11 & Under Boys/Girls Division (9-holes) Note: The flighting process using qualifying score provides best possible equality in each division. Each division played from same tee markers.
Cost: $60 per player (Tax Included)
Includes: Minimum of 2 rounds of golf, lunch on first day, hat, tee shirt, and logo ball.
