New Wyandotte Park Fence!

The new fence in Wyandotte Park along Taylor Blvd was recently installed. The District 15 Metro Council Office has worked long and hard on this fence project. Not only is this fence aesthetically pleasing, it provides added safety and protects Wyandotte's lawn, sidewalks and other facilities. Thank you to Metro Parks and the Louisville Parks Foundation for their assistance in facilitating the project!

LouCity FC employees and supporters have committed to run in the Kentucky Derby Festival’s miniMarathon, in support of the Louisville Parks Foundation’s planned turf soccer fields at Wyandotte Park.  The race will be held on April 27, 2019.  Each runner needs “sponsors” for their run! Donations will be accepted until the race officially starts.

LIHEAP Extended

This annual program helps prevent low income residents of Louisville from being disconnected from utility services. It runs through April 30th, or until available funds have been expended, whichever comes first. To schedule appointments by phone call 502-991-8391 or go online at louisvilleky.cascheduler.com. The toll-free service is currently open and is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.


Pothole Blitz!

The annual Pothole blitz is underway. Metro Public Works (MPW) is moving across the city in a grid pattern to patch all the potholes it can find. Here is how to report a pothole:

  • On Twitter use the hashtag #502pothole. Just include the address or intersection where the pothole is located along with the hashtag in a tweet, and you’re done.
  • The pothole reporting form that you can find at the top of the city’s webpage, Louisvilleky.gov. Just click on the “Report a pothole” link and fill in the location information.
  • Contact Metro311 in one of these ways
    • Call them at 311 or 574-5000
    • Download the Metro311 app on your smartphone and use it to report a pothole

Yard Waste Guidelines

Accepted yard waste collection items

  • Leaves, twigs, straw, pine needles
  • Shrubbery trimmings
  • Wood ash
  • Branches (less than 2 inch diameter, cut into 4 foot lengths, tied into bundles with twine)
  • Contained in reusable containers, paper yard waste bags, or compostable bags (must meet ASTM D6400 Standards)
  • Christmas trees (seasonally)

Pick up yard waste stickers for labeling your reusable containers at 600 Meriwether Avenue, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Address Posting Reminder!

Louisville Metro Seal

In accordance to Chapter 97, sub-section 013 in the current Metro Code of Ordinances, homes that have an un-named, drive-through alley behind the property must post their addresses at the rear of the property as well as the front! This will assist LMPD, Fire & Rescue, EMS and others in finding the home easier and quicker!


Discounted Recycle Carts Available

Councilman Triplett is participating in the discounted recycle cart program with Solid Waste. District 15 residents benefit! The 95-gallon and 65-gallon recycling carts are available for District 15 residents for only $25 -- this is a 50% discount. Due to the change in KY tax code, we must now charge sales tax on the value of the item - therefore the total for the cart is $28 - $25 for the cart and $3.00 for tax. 2019 PVA Reassessments

PVA is re-evaluating the property values in Area 1 and 4 of Jefferson County this year. If your property value is reassessed this year, you will receive a postcard in the mail from the PVA which will be sent to all affected property owners on April 26th. You have a right to appeal your property value reassessment. Those appeals must be made through a “conference” with the PVA by May 20th. The PVA offers an online conference Tool available at www.jeffersonpva.ky.gov
