7411 Outer Loop – Next to Outer Loop Plaza (ValuMarket): 212 apartment units are being built known as Frontgate Apartments. The plan was approved in 2012 but a lawsuit by area residents delayed construction. The case was appealed all the way to the Kentucky Supreme Court and the courts ruled in favor of the developer. The developer has received all needed permits from the city and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to proceed. Originally this development was planned to be funded using Low Income Housing Tax Credits. Despite not having many examples, the company claims this version will only be market rate housing.
9101 Smyrna Pkwy – Smyrna Pkwy just south of Gene Snyder Freeway: L&N Credit Union is building their corporate headquarters. The building will be 3 stories tall. They are building it right next to the current L&N Credit Union branch and offices. This project was approved in late 2018 and they have received all needed permits to begin construction.
4700 Cooper Chapel Rd - Corner of Cooper Chapel Rd and Preston Highway: Menards is being built at this corner. The plan was approved in 2017. Demolition of the site has started but much of the construction remains. Menards says they are projecting a spring 2020 opening.
