Metro Council Budget Committee Schedule for Budget Hearings

Monday, March 4 – Public Hearing beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Thursday, March 14 – Regular Budget Committee meeting at 4:30 p.m.

Signups for those wishing to address the Budget Committee on March 4 begin one hour prior to the start of the hearing on the third floor of City Hall, 601 W. Jefferson Street. Speakers are called in order of signup and have up to three minutes to make comments. Written testimony can be turned in during the meeting and, occasionally, speakers are asked questions by the Committee members. Location Change for Community Meeting March 9th!

Councilman Kevin Triplett along with Metro Council President David James and Councilwoman Nicole George will hold a Community meeting to discuss the Budget issues on Saturday March 9th from 10 A.M. to noon at the First Gethsemane Baptist Church, 1221 First Gethsemane Ave, off Algonquin Parkway. The meeting will be in the Church's Center for Family Development. Also scheduled to attend are members of the Mayor's office and Office of Management & Budget. *Please note the location change!*

Olmsted Parks Volunteer Event

Join Olmsted Parks Conservancy on Saturday, March 9 from 10 am to 12 pm in Iroquois Park to help restore this scenic reservation by removing invasive plants and cleaning up our urban park woodlands. Other projects might include weeding in landscaped areas, mulching or painting. Please dress for the weather with appropriate footwear. Tools, gloves and refreshments will be provided. LMPD 4TH Division Advisory Board

The LMPD 4^thDivision Advisory Board, a group of citizens who represent all the neighborhoods of the 4^thDivision, meets the 2^ndTuesday of each month, 6:30 to 7:30 pm, at the Old Louisville Neighborhood & Visitors Center in Central Park, 1340 S. 4^thSt., 40208. Major Joshua Judah meets with the Advisory Board to exchange Division news and hear community concerns. It is an opportunity for you to discuss issues in your community with the Division commanding officer and support the Division in its mission to keep our community safe. This annual program helps prevent low income residents of Louisville from being disconnected from utility services. It runs through March 29, or until available funds have been expended, whichever comes first. To schedule appointments by phone call 502-991-8391 or go online at louisvilleky.cascheduler.com. The toll-free service is currently open and is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Yard Waste Suspended through Marh 31st!

Louisville Metro Solid Waste Management is suspending yard waste through March 30, 2019. Individuals can request collection as needed during this period through MetroCall at 574-5000

Brightside Community Wide Clean-Up

Brightside & Passport Health Plan Community-Wide Cleanup date has been set for Saturday, April 13th! Online registration will open on Friday, February 15th at www.brightsideinc.org All cleanup teams will receive bags and gloves at no cost, and the first 5,000 volunteers to register will also receive a free t-shirt! The Supply pick-up date is March 31st at the Iroquois Amphitheater from 2 - 5 P.M.

Kentucky Kingdom Hiring!

Kentucky Kingdom announced that they are now accepting applications for team members for the park's 2019 season. Park officials said they need to fill approximately 1,400 seasonal positions in departments ranging from aquatics and rides to guest relations and health services. Councilman Triplett is participating in the discounted recycle cart program with Solid Waste. District 15 residents benefit! The 95-gallon and 65-gallon recycling carts are available for District 15 residents for only $25 -- this is a 50% discount. Due to the change in KY tax code, we must now charge sales tax on the value of the item - therefore the total for the cart is $28 - $25 for the cart and $3.00 for tax.
