Louisville Water will open South Third Street to accommodate the Breeders Cup. Currently all southbound lanes of South Third Street are closed between Eastern Parkway and Winkler Ave. For Friday and Saturday only one southbound and one northbound lane is open in the morning with police traffic control. Starting around 2:30 in the afternoon contractors will begin to change the traffic pattern back to allow both northbound lanes to be open to accommodate the traffic leaving Churchill Downs. The plan is to have these two lanes open no later than 5:00 pm. After Saturday the traffic pattern will remain as is with both southbound lanes closed. We appreciate your continued support as we work to complete this important project. For detour maps or further information go to "louisvillewater.com/EasternPkwyProject"
