Metro Animal Services' Pets of the Week: Atlas and Muriel!

Atlas

Atlas, MALE DOG

Atlas has been in the shelter for 195 days!!! This long-stay champion can be shy at first, but is a sweet, laidback dog. The friendly 3-year-old enjoys exploring when he takes walks and does great on car rides. Atlas also likes the occasional hamburger or ice cream for being a good boy.  His adoption fee is waived thanks to the Pay It Forward Program.  Adopt Atlas and receive our VIP package: Free wellness checks for 3 years, free vaccinations for 3 years, free canine license (3yrs), free harness and crate! You can meet Atlas at the LMAS Shelter located at 3705 Manslick Rd. Monday-Friday 12-6pm. Questions? Email LMAS at animalservicesadoption@louisvilleky.gov or call 502-473-PETS.

Muriel

Muriel, FEMALE CAT

Muriel loves hanging out at the Lucky Cat Café and Lounge in the Highlands. The 9-month-old has plenty of furry friends to play with,  and the humans that stop by have spoiled the sometimes shy cat. But what Muriel wants most is a forever home. Muriel’s adoption fee is waived thanks to the Pay It Forward Program. She’s already spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. You can meet Muriel at the Lucky Cat Café and Lounge located at 2230 Dundee Rd. Wednesday-Saturday 11am-7pm. Make a reservation to hang out with Muriel and other adoptable cats:  502-403-5809 or www.luckycatcafe.org

Brightside Community Wide Fall Cleanup - October 20th

Brightside

We have heard from many constituents that they are disappointed with the amount of littering in the area. This event is an amazing opportunity to put on some gloves and take pride in our community.

The 2018 Brightside & Passport Health Plan Fall Community Wide Cleanup is on Saturday, October 20th! Last year's fall Community Wide Cleanup saw over 8,500 volunteers clean up our city and this year, we want to shatter that number!

We encourage all residents to take part in the Community-Wide Cleanup. The event is a great service opportunity for boy/girl scouts, sports teams, faith groups and community organizations. It could also be a corporate team bonding opportunity!

Cleanups are an integral part of Brightside's mission and without the help of volunteer groups, and many other volunteers throughout the year, Brightside could not achieve their goals of a cleaner, greener Louisville.

To register, please call (502) 574-2613 or register online at https://louisvilleky.gov/government/brightside/brightside-passport-health-plan-community-wide-cleanup about two weeks prior to your event to schedule your cleanup and for information about getting supplies.

Thanks to each and every volunteer who supports the Brightside & Passport Health Plan Community-Wide Cleanup. We look forward to seeing you on October 20th. Thank you for your dedication – we can’t do it without you!
