West Main Repair

The Main Street pipe is one of the Louisville’s most essential sewer lines which carries 40 percent of the community’s wastewater. Due to heavy rains in August which compounded the problem of the structural failure, MSD contractors are currently installing extra support for the failing concrete structure and creating the new pipe between Fourth and Seventh streets. This $20 million underground repair project should be completed by the end of the year. The need to repair and even replace infrastructure is vital for not only the health and safety of our community but for its economic vitality as well, stated MSD Executive Director Tony Parrott. Therefore, traffic was reduced to only one lane on the north side of Main Street midway between Third and Fourth streets to ensure public safety as showing in on the Map.
