Cloverleaf held their Chili Cook Off
and fall event last weekend on the grounds at Gutermuth Elementary
School. Several people attended - some for the first time - and enjoyed
the day with music and fellowship. Councilwoman Butler is pictured with
Neighborhood President Gail Klotz. Thanks to all who made it a success!

A new outdoor classroom is planned at the Iroquois Farm off Bicknell Ave to assist in teaching students about farming, growing their own fruits and vegetables and a healthy lifestyle. A USDA grant is helping with the construction. Councilwoman Butler is pictured with Mayor Greg Fischer, Iroquois High School students and Carol Gundersen with the Food Literacy Program.

The coat drive donates directly to JCPS students in need! Last year’s event raised over 300 new coats for students across our city. A new flat screen TV will be raffled off to members of our community that donate NEW coats, gloves & scarves or provide a minimum $25 donation to support keeping JCPS students in need.

A Healthy Journey for Two Educational Baby Shower

for Two is an educational baby shower open to any expectant mothers. The class
will include a range of information and resources, as well as free baby items,

Sale is offering pre-bagged compost and compost by the scoop. Compost is
available as pre-bagged at $2.50 per bag or as a 1 cubic meter scoop for

will support any cleanup that happens within the weeks surrounding October
20th. All cleanup teams will receive bags and gloves at no cost and the

The Citizen Forestry
Training 101 is the foundation of Louisville Grows' Tree Planting Program.
Through the Citizen Forestry 101 course, participants learn how to build and
maintain our neighborhood and community forests. Participants are taught basic
tree anatomy and physiology, environmental stewardship, tree planting skills
and how to lead other volunteers in proper planting and caring for trees. For
tickets or further information call (502) 753-9079.

The "Meals on Wheels" program need additional volunteers to deliver "hot meals" to homebound seniors in South Louisville every day.
The meals are sorted and picked up at Beechmont Community Center,
and volunteers are responsible for delivering the meals to seniors in need.
These volunteers, who may be the only people the elderly clients see
regularly, support good nutritional health but also promote
their independence and well-being. To volunteer, contact South
Louisville Community Ministries at 361-7763.

Councilwoman
Butler is participating in the discounted recycle cart program with Solid
Waste. District 15 residents benefit! The 95-gallon and 65-gallon recycling
carts are available for District 15 residents for only $25 -- this is a
50% discount. Due to the change in KY tax code, we must now charge sales tax on
the value of the item - therefore the total for the cart is $28 - $25 for the
cart and $3.00 for tax. To order your recycle cart call Solid
