Riders for Heroes is a fund raising effort to help local first responders and veterans organizations.
“I am honored to join UAW Local 862 and its members in celebrating the third year of this event,” says President David James (D-6). “Riders for Heroes is a chance for all of us to say thank you to dedicated police officers, fire fighters EMS workers and veterans. They sacrifice so much for us, now is the time to give them a helping hand.”
Join me in congratulating V.G. Reed & Sons in celebrating its 80th year in business. V.G. Reed & Sons has been providing print and fulfillment services in multiple industries since 1938. The company is third generation owned, with fourth generation Reed's in the business. Thank you, V.G. Reed and Sons, for employing over 100 people, many of whom live in Louisville, and for being HubZone certified, providing opportunities to those needing a second chance in our community.
The Participatory Budget Kick Off Event was held Wednesday at the Center of Health Equity. Citizens from District 6 and District 8 came by to discuss ways they wished to spend the $75,000 that is to be distributed to their district. This event was the first of many planned to get public input on what the community wants.
The main idea: We want people living in the district to be able to decide how the money that is given by the city should be spent.
If you have an idea, or want to be involved in the process we encourage you to come out to the next event. We want to hear from you!
