Councilman Blackwell will host the next monthly District 12
Dialogue on Tuesday, August 21st.
He hosts the quarterly District 12 Dialogue forums as a way to
make Metro Government more convenient and accessible for the constituents of
District 12.
Councilman Blackwell will provide an update on Southwest projects.
Representatives from LMPD, MSD, Code Enforcement, and a member of the New Dixie
project will be in attendance to address specific concerns.
Chief Doug Recktenwald will also be on the agenda to discuss
a potential ambulance service provided by PRP Fire.

6801 Dixie Hwy suite 102 declares intentions to apply for a Retail Drink License and a Special Sunday Retail Drink License no later than August 17, 2018. The business licensed will be located at 6801 Dixie Hwy suite 102 Louisville Ky 40258 doing business as Fu Ji Asian Bistro. Any person, association, corporation, or body politic may protest the granting of the licenses by writing the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, 1003 Twilight Trails, Frankfort Ky 40601-8400 within 30 days of the date of its legal publication (September 10, 2018).
Some of the reasons for refusal of a license:
- Premise does not comply fully with all alcoholic beverage control statutes and regulations of the board
- The applicant or the premises does not comply with all regulations of a city administrator
- The applicant has done an act for which a revocation of license would be authorized
- The applicant has made any false material statement in his application
- Public sentiment in the area
- Number of licensed outlets in the area
- Potential for future growth
- Type of area involved
- Type of transportation available

It’s that time of year again! The 18th annual RBA Light-up Riverport Golf Scramble will be held at the Iroquois Golf Course, on Saturday, August 18, 2018. Proceeds from the Light-up Riverport Golf Scramble will be used to pay the annual costs of Riverport street lighting. This annual event helps keep our employees safe and our facilities secure! Breakfast will be served beginning at 6:30am followed by a shotgun start at 7:00am. When the last team returns from play we’ll enjoy lunch and a presentation of trophies and door prizes.
Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place; and the “Most Teams” entered by one company! Additionally, prizes will be awarded for: Longest Drive and Closest to the Hole. We hope to have 30 participating teams again this year! Please register your players and teams as soon as possible! Player names, teams and payment status will appear on our website until the event.

Lola, FEMALE DOG
Sweet Lola can be shy but she’s sweet as pie! This adorable
one-year-old boxer mix is a friendly, happy dog. When Lola first came to the
shelter, she was suffering from allergies. Now that Lola has been placed on a
grain free diet, she is doing much better! Lola is smart, too. This girl knows
how to open someof the doors at Animal House! Adopt Lola and make sure this
escape artist gets a loving, forever home. Her adoption fee is waived thanks to

Great things are happening in Southwest Louisville! The New Dixie
Highway Project is underway and we are getting the word out that southwest
Louisville is a great place to do business. With all of this positive momentum,
it’s important that residents and businesses alike embrace our community pride

Below is a list of projects overseen by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet happening in Southwest Louisville.
US
31W (Dixie Highway):
Lane closures and sidewalk closures in place between Greenwood Road and Heaton
Road (mile markers 11.7 to 14.5) due to construction for access management and
bus rapid transit lines. Roadway is reduced to two
lanes on southbound Dixie Highway in two locations between Heaton Road and
Upper Hunters Trace and between Blanton Lane and Greenwood Road.
US 31W (Dixie Highway) North: Lane closures and delays
possible at Nobel Place (mile marker 15.7) due to installation of a
micro-trench for conduit and fiber optic cables. Right lane will be closed
daily from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 6
at Nobel Place. This process will take several weeks to complete as crews
progress north to West Broadway.

The following is a list of permits and notices from Louisville Metro public works for lane and sidewalk closures, utility cuts, street closures and oversize load notices in the Metro area.
6811 Sylvania Rd. - LG&E has been issued Permit Number 18RW3203 to close one driving lane in order to install and remove poles. Permit is valid from June 1st to June 29th.
