Walking District 10 with Louisville's finest

walk with Major Bogan

In an effort to enhance relationships between the police and the community, Louisville Metro Police Department division commanders and officers join in neighborhood "Peace Walks" all over the city.

Monday, Councilman Mulvihill joined Sixth Division Commander Michael Bogan and Officer George McMillan to walk neighborhoods near the zoo.

Walking neighborhoods throughout Louisville Metro provides a great opportunity for residents to meet LMPD officers in a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere. The walks have also encouraged neighbors to get out and meet other neighbors.

Wednesday, Councilman Mulvihill met Fourth Division Commander Josh Judah and other Fourth Division officers at Emerson Park. At left, the group walked Shelby Street across from Oscar's Hardware.

In Schnitzelburg, left to right, Major Judah, Mike Morris, Henry Oechslin (the Schnitzelburg Sidewalk Superintendent) and Councilman Mulvihill visited during the walk.

We'll let you know when more Peace Walks are planned in the District 10 E-News.

Heroes for the Home

Councilman Mulvihill attended the Heroes for the Home breakfast at Home of the Innocents Thursday morning. He is pictured above with Brad and Shannon Derrick.

Home of the Innocents (the Home) is where Louisville’s vulnerable children and youth find emotional, physical, and intellectual support that can transform their lives.

The Home provides a range of important residential, treatment and community-based programs.

Programs include offering a safe haven for at-risk children; pediatric medical care; shelter and education for pregnant and parenting teens; crisis and intervention services; clinical treatment services and therapeutic loving foster and adoption services.

The Home also operates a pediatric convalescent center for children who are dependent on technology to sustain life, as well as children who are terminally ill.
