Applications Open for Racial Equity Youth Council
Center for Health Equity’s Racial Equity Youth Council is hiring!
As National Youth Violence Prevention Week closes, we are
excited to open applications for the Racial Equity Youth Council (REYC).
Established by the Center for Health Equity (CHE) in 2017 to
address barriers faced by youth who are not in school and unemployed, the REYC will
work towards advancing racial equity to empower youth by 1) developing and
facilitating racial equity training for youth-serving organization and 2) developing
and conducting research to inform the Louisville Metro Government-wide youth
action plan which seeks to put racial equity into practice through policy.
We know we must listen to the young decision-makers in
Louisville to change the way they experience their communities.
We are seeking 10 youth
who. . .
- Are
between the ages of 16-21
- Want
to understand how racism has shaped our community and ways to meaningfully
create change
- Are
passionate about working towards social inequities that directly impact
Louisville youth
- Can
commit to weekly Tuesday meetings and local events to move forward the work of
the council
- Are
dedicated, compassionate, energetic, and eager to amplify the voices of
Louisville youth
- Believe
in the power of youth!
