Louisville Water Company has closed Palatka Road between Manslick Road and St. Andrews Church Road through March 2. LWC closed this section of Palatka to safely complete important infrastructure improvement.

YMCA Safe Place "Together 4 Teen Tour"

YMCA Safe Place is holding a "Together 4 Teen Tour". This tour showcases our community's only 24-hour shelter for homeless & runaway teens and other programs focused on young people in crisis! A lite lunch will be provided.


Metro Council Announces Medical Marijuana Town Hall Meetings

Louisville Metro Council Health and Education Committee invite the community to attend one of two town hall meetings on the topic of legalizing the use of marijuana for medical purposes. Each town hall meeting will be held in a different part of the community, with the next town hall Monday, February 26 at 6:00pm. Each town hall will start with presentations by panelists both in support and opposition to a resolution calling for the legalization of medical marijuana which is currently being considered by the Louisville Metro Council. Persons attending the town hall meeting will have the opportunity to ask questions of panelists following opening remarks. Each town hall is expected to last 60-90 minutes and comments received during each event will be given to all members of the Louisville Metro Council.

   Tuesday, February 27, 6:00PM – Southwick Community Center (3621 Southern Avenue)

LIHEAP Crisis Program

LIHEAP

LIHEAP is accepting applications through March 30th or until available funds have been expended, whichever comes first. This year’s Crisis Program features expanded eligibility for past due amounts in addition to those that have received a disconnect notice. Residents wishing to apply must make an appointment utilizing the automated appointment system. Schedule appointments by phone at 502-991-8391 or online at louisvilleky.cascheduler.com.  The toll-free service is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.


Brightside Community Spring Clean-up

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

Louisville Asset Building Coalition's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA, and AARP Tax Aide programs provide trained, IRS-certified volunteers to offer free tax services at more than 20 sites across the city to individuals and families who earned less than $64,000 in 2017. LWC Eastern Parkway Project Update

LWC crews are working Ash Avenue to Beargrass Creek. The westbound lanes between this section are closed The eastbound lanes will operate as a two-lane roadway. Southbound Goss Avenue's right turn/through lane to westbound Eastern Parkway will be closed. Construction in this area will continue through the end of March.

The 95-gallon and 65-gallon recycling carts are available for District 15 residents for only $25 -- this is a 50% discount off the cost.
