Students from grades 5 - 8 are invited to participate in this community wide event and are encouraged to create and showcase projects representing all science disciplines including but not limited to physical, natural, biological and space. Registration is required and the deadline is Friday, February 23, 2018. There is a $10.00 fee per entry. The popular Fifth Third Bank Financial Empowerment Mobile, the eBus,
will be visiting Louisville Feb. 20 through Feb. 26 and will be open to the
public.
The eBus is a 40-foot retrofitted
city bus equipped with onboard computer workstations and internet connectivity.
It is staffed by professionals who provide free one-on-one personalized
counseling, credit scores, financial coaching, budgeting, job search and other
services.

Computer Coding Game Development
The Catholic Enrichment Center (CEC) of the Archdiocese of Louisville’s Office of Multicultural Ministry will offer a workshop on the introduction of computer coding. Coding is what makes it possible for us to create computer software, apps and websites. This session will give youth the basic skills for positive computer interaction. Students will be guided through coding actions which will provide them with the start of a personalized computer game. This workshop for youth in grades 6-8 will take place on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. There are only 12 spaces available and the cost is $5.00. Black History Month Classic Movie Festival

The plan to expand Haz Bin, our household hazardous
materials drop-off service, from a two-days-a-week operation to five days
a week has been delayed by an unexpected personnel shortage.
Haz Bin, now open
only Wednesdays and Saturdays will switch beginning April 3, 2018
to a Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule. The new hours were
previously set to go into effect on February 13. Haz Bin, located at
7501 Grade Lane, is available to all residents of Louisville/Jefferson
County. It provides a safe and convenient way to dispose of unwanted household
hazardous materials which are not accepted in household garbage collection or
recycling centers.

The Muhammad Ali Center, Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, Frazier History Museum, and the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts – all partners in downtown Louisville’s Museum Row on Main -- are teaming up to offer $5 deals for Kentucky and Indiana residents throughout February. The Ali Center, Slugger, and Frazier museums will be offering $5 admission rates to locals throughout the month and patrons of the Kentucky Center’s SCENE at the Center restaurant will receive a $5 off restaurant orders of $50 or more.
