ABC hearing regarding 1036 Goss Avenue

ABC hearing

There was an Alcoholic Beverage Control hearing this morning in Frankfort regarding the retail liquor package license being appealed by the applicant at 1036 Goss Avenue.

The Louisville/Jefferson County ABC Administrator, Robert Kirchdorfer, previously denied the license.

Councilman Mulvihill attended the hearing in Frankfort with neighborhood leaders Steve Magre, Bruce Ewing and Mike Morris to support the denial of such a license at this location.

The state ABC will decide on the application at a later date.

In the photo above, Robert Kirchdorfer is seated at far left, with left to right, Morris, Ewing, and Magre.

How to report potholes

potholes

Need to report a pothole? It's fast using a Twitter hashtag option or a form on the city’s website.

Reporting a pothole via Twitter is as simple as including the hashtag, #502pothole along with the exact location of the pothole, in a tweet. To report a pothole in front of City Hall, for example, we would tweet #502pothole 601 W Jefferson St.

Users may also click here and fill in the location information and click “Submit.” The city receives information from both the #502pothole hashtag and the website form, and issues requests to Public Works to fill the potholes.

Citizens may still call MetroCall 311 to report potholes, but may have to wait.

Tonight - January 19 - Coffee with a Cop

Coffee with a Cop logo

Join your neighbors and police officers for coffee and conversation this evening at 7 p.m.

Coffee with a Cop will be at the Starbucks at the intersection of Baxter and Highland with Louisville Metro Police Department Division 5 Commander Major Aubrey Gregory and division officers.

The mission of Coffee with a Cop is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve. This is done by removing agendas and allowing opportunities to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know the officers in your neighborhood.

Yard waste collection suspended, will resume March 12

Yard waste collection in the Urban Services District of Louisville Metro (the former City of Louisville boundaries) is now on seasonal shutdown and will resume March 12.

Since yard waste collection volumes are lower in the winter months, Metro Public Works can use this time to direct additional resources to clearing our streets and roads, including interstate highways, of litter in advance of spring along with other solid waste activities.

During the suspension period, citizens should not put yard waste out for collection. Any yard waste problems should be reported as usual to MetroCall at 311 or 574-5000. Those calls will be handled on an as needed basis rather than running crews full-time on routes across the city.

Check on elderly, disabled neighbors and friends during cold, snowy weather

We know many of our good neighbors do, but please remember to watch out for elderly neighbors and those who need extra help during bad weather. Offer to clear sidewalks, bring in mail or run errands.
