Happy Holidays to you and your family! Metro Louisville offices will be closed on Monday, January 1. |
The New Year is fast approaching and these are festive times for endless parties with friends, families, and co-workers that can easily lead to drinking too much alcohol. Drinking and driving accounts for one-third of vehicle-related fatalities in the United States. Keep your New Year bright by remembering to always drive sober, no matter what. The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety is partnering with the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for the National Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement campaign to help keep impaired drivers off the road. Have a plan about getting home before you start drinking whether it's a cab, a designated driver, or a ride share app.

 Sometimes
pipes and drains connected to sewer systems smell like rotting eggs.
While
sewer odor is unpleasant, it is not a serious threat to people, animals or
plants.
When
you smell that smell, call us! Let us know where the catch basin or manhole is located.

Louisville Metro Office
of Resilience and Community Services (RCS) launched "Am I Eligible",
a new online screening tool for Louisville residents. “Am I Eligible”
invites individuals to complete a brief online survey to determine which RCS programs and services are available to them. This tool is featured on the RCS homepage at https://louisvilleky.gov/government/resilience-and-community-services
or can be accessed at https://amieligible.louisvilleky.gov/.
Survey participants are asked to answer questions related to household size and monthly income; whether or
not there are children present in the household; is there a disability; as well
as what programs are of interest.
Based on the answers to the
questions, participants receive a customized list
of programs and services for which they may be eligible including educational scholarships,
housing and financial assistance, help starting a microbusiness, assistance
with budgeting or opening a bank account, and more.
“Am I Eligible”
can be completed anonymously or participants have the option of submitting their
name, contact information as well as selecting a Neighborhood Place most
convenient for them. An RCS staff member assigned to the designated
Neighborhood Place will then contact the participant by phone or email for
further follow-up.
 Neighborhood Place partners join in
holiday celebrations at the Park DuValle Holiday Festival in early December and
a Kwanzaa reception later in the month. A variety of
workshops and events will also be offered throughout December including an
Energy Management class, a conversation with youth regarding the impact of
