Free parking: The Mayor announced Tuesday that a group of business and community leaders, led by Matthew Barzun and Brooke Brown Barzun, are chipping in $220,000 over each of the next two years to keep parking free at Waterfront Park. Read more.

Top Story: Soccer vote tonight. Metro Council will vote tonight on a $30 million bond for a new Butchertown Stadium Development District. Earlier this week, Louisville City FC announced it’s partnering with the Louisville Urban League on training and hiring for construction work on the stadium and other employment opportunities. Read the agreement.

Vacant property programs: Metro’s Vacant & Public Property Administration announced three new programs designed to more rapidly move vacant properties back into productive use. Details here.

Small business honor. Louisville earned an A grade from small business owners through Thumbtack’s 2017 Small Business Friendliness Survey. Read more.

Perfect again: Louisville again earned a perfect 100 on the Human Rights Campaign scorecard, which honors the city for working to ensure that all are treated equally regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Officials break ground on major expansion

of St. Matthews-Eline Library

Mayor Fischer joined St. Matthews Mayor Rick Tonini last Friday in breaking ground on a major expansion of the St. Matthews-Eline branch of the Louisville Free Public Library.
