Metro Parks and Recreation is offering an affordable family golfing package at its nine golf courses over the
Labor Day weekend.
Though the area is receiving heavy rain today, the weekend outlook through Labor Day looks sunny and pleasant.
For only $25, a family of up to four members can play nine holes at any Metro Parks course. The $25 includes greens and cart fees, and families can take advantage of the deal after 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 2; Sunday, September 3; and Monday, September 4.
Families are encouraged to call in advance to book a tee time at the golf course of their choice. Metro Parks golf courses are open from daylight to dark seven days a week.

Attendees can participate in various fitness demonstrations including zumba, yoga or tai chi on the Great Lawn to start the day. Then, take your pick from a 5k hike, 9.5-mile bike ride or a paddle on the Ohio River. This event is not a race. September 16 - Family Kite Festival at Riverside - The Farnsley-Moreman Landing![]() The sight of colorful kites flying through the air will punctuate a wonderful family event hosted at Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 16.
The first-ever “Family Kite Festival” will take place on the grounds of the
historic home and farm, located in southwest Louisville at 7410 Moorman Road.
Admission to the Kite Festival is free, although concessions will be offered
for sale.

Brightside Bash 2017 will be held on Thursday, September 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Copper & Kings Distillery at 1121 E. Washington Street.

How to file a damage claim with MSD

From MSD: Property Owners may file damage claims by calling MSD Customer Relations at 587-0603. They will need to reference the Camp Taylor Sewer Project, provide their name, address, phone number, and a brief description of their damage claim.
MSD will forward the information to our contractor for them to investigate and render a decision on the claim in writing to the property owner. Additional information may be required such as receipts or photos as applicable. If the Contractor denies responsibility for the claim, the property owner may appeal the decision by contacting MSD Customer Relations again and request that the claim be evaluated by MSD.
MSD and our field representatives will monitor and track the claim progression to make sure the contractor is responsive.

Discounted Recycle Carts still available for $25 for District 10 residents - now in two sizes

The discounted recycle cart program has been re-instituted by Councilman Mulvihill and now offers two sizes: the 95-gallon carts and smaller 64 gallon carts. The photos at left show the sizes (64 gallon on the left). |

The carts normally cost $50, but Councilman Mulvihill has made them available for residents of District 10 for a reduced cost of $25. Please call 574-1110 or email us for the form. The reduced cost recycle carts will be available on a first come first served basis until the funds are depleted. This offer is available to urban service district residents. |

Fourth Division - This division covers the area including Smoketown, Churchill Downs, the Fairgrounds, South Louisville and Old Louisville.
Fifth Division - This division covers the area including the Highlands, Clifton and Cherokee and Seneca Parks.
Sixth Division - This division covers the area including Audubon Park, Newburg, Norfolk, the airport and GE.
