Julia Mature, 100, honored by Councilman Mulvihill
 “Julia
Mature has reached the magical age of 100 and we hope all of her 100 birthday
wishes come true.”

in the Shelby Park area on June 8, 1917, Julia Mature has lived in Audubon Park
since 1952. She worked for and retired from the Logan Company and is an active
member of St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church.
Julia Mature

loving sister, until their passing, to Clara, Louie, Virgil, and Annie. She was
first cousin to actor Victor Mature.
She loves
horse racing, playing cards, swimming and gardening, and is famous for gifting
her delicious Angel Food cakes to others for any occasion. She was honored with a Louisville Metro proclamation from Councilman Mulvihill and one from Mayor Greg Fischer.

LMAS Pets of the Week
Meet Bianca! This happy girl loves people so much, she'll lean into your leg just to feel close to you. She is as sweet as can be
and will steal your heart the moment you see her hobble around. Prior to
arriving at LMAS, Bianca sustained an injury to one
of her legs. As a result, she doesn’t have much use for that leg, but it doesn’t hold her back. She loves to run.
Bianca also suffers from
heartworms, so if you want to adopt her, you will have to foster her until she finishes
her heartworm treatment.
Fosters who took
her out for a day said: “Bianca is so awesome. She
doesn’t pull on the leash and the leg injury that she has does not slow her
down.” “She was amazing. She acted like
she has been on a leash every day of her life. She didn’t pull at all and
walked at a great pace. She didn’t react to anyone or anything.”
This girl would make a fantastic
addition to someone’s family, as she loves people and seems to enjoy the company of other dogs. What are you waiting for? Stop by the
LMAS Animal Care Center (3705 Manslick Rd.) to get the process started! You can
email LMAS Foster Coordinator Stephanie Jackson at Stephanie.jackson@louisvilleky.gov
to begin fostering to adopt Bianca. It’ll be one of the best decisions you make
this year!

Two-year-old Wren spent most of his life fending for
himself, until a nice family took him in off the streets. Sadly, when his mom
became ill, she was forced to surrender him to Louisville Metro Animal
Services. Wren has been in the LMAS shelter for for about four months, and he is TERRIFIED. An LMAS employee put this note
in our system regarding Wren: "Cat is very sweet, but nervous of the new
surroundings." Please save this guy! He is FREE to an approved adopter. He
has been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Be a hero. Adopt a shelter pet.
Stop by the LMAS Animal House Adoption Center (3516 Newburg Rd.) to meet Wren!

The focus of Repair Affair is on home safety, security,

fixing broken steps, or making modifications to accommodate a wheel chair we
can make it possible for a senior or disabled homeowner to remain independently
in their own home. Best of all the assistance is completely free to the
recipients.
