celebrated spring and the holiday with an Easter Egg Hunt last weekend for

WeCare
Energy Efficiency Overview Tuesday, April 18th 10 A.M. to noon 4255 Hazelwood Ave
Representatives from the
WeCare Program at LG&E will be on hand to talk with interested persons
about energy efficiency, energy usage and tips to reduce utility bills.
WeCare staff can also help determine if households are eligible for a variety
of free services including air duct sealing and insulation, attic and wall

April 25 Community
Dental Care Information Sessions Tuesday, April 25th 10 A.M. to noon 4255 Hazelwood Ave Community Dental Care
is a full-service dental organization designed to increase access to health
care in communities with the goal of improving the overall health of the
population. Representatives will be on site to provide information about
services offered and to assist in scheduling appointments for dental needs or
for pediatric health needs. For additional information call 366-4442.
 TARC
is again this year increasing service into downtown Louisville and designating
five post-event boarding areas for Thunder Over Louisville on Sat., Apr.
22. The service plan mirrors TARC service for Thunder in recent years.
About
10,000 passengers are expected to take TARC for the annual fireworks and air
show on the river. Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and know their route
number and stop locations. Yellow signs with route information will be posted
on board all TARC buses, designated bus stops and shelters in upcoming days.
Regular
TARC fares will apply. A one-way fare is $1.75 or 80 cents for passengers
over the age of 65, riders with disabilities and ages 6-17. TARC ID is required
for reduced fare. Children under the age of 5 ride free. Easy
trip planning, maps and schedules are available at www.ridetarc.org, the ‘Transit App’ (free

for the 14th Annual Ken-Ducky Derby as they drop 30,000 rubber ducks into the Ohio River! The Duck Drop

with disabilities at Harbor House of Louisville. Harbor House is a local, nonprofit,
charity that lights the way for adults with physical and cognitive
disabilities. It is a day program where the participants can come and engage in
special programs like job training, educational/tutoring classes, cooking
classes, gardening, community integration, social skills, technology classes,
therapeutic activities, arts and humanities, and more! For

Applications
are now being accepted for the spring and summer sessions of the Louisville
Etsy Craft Entrepreneurship Program. The three-week program provides
micro-business training to underemployed, low-income adults who have creative
skills, to help supplement their income by selling their crafts on the Etsy
online platform. The
program has had more than a dozen successful classes, graduating 73 artists
with marketable products. Forty graduates of the program have opened their own
stores on Etsy.com, with several more in the works. Many
graduates of the program have branched out to participate in local makers
events, including the Made Market and the Mini Maker Faire. Dates
for the six-class spring and summer sessions include:
May 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24 July 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26
All
classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Nia Center, 2900 W. Broadway,
from 4– 6 p.m. Registration
for the program is open, but space is limited. To qualify, participants must be
Jefferson County residents over 18 years of age, attend all six classes, have
access to a computer, a digital camera or smart phone, and have a handmade
craft product to sell. For

addition to the systematic block by block Pothole Blitz Metro Public Works
performs beginning in March each year, the Roads and Operations Division works
year- round patching potholes whenever they are reported to us. Public Works
encourages anyone who spots a pothole in Louisville to report it to MetroCall
