Officer Nicholas Rodman Memorial Ceremony

rod

LMPD Officer Nick Rodman passed away  Wednesday afternoon  at University Hospital from injuries sustained after his police cruiser was struck head-on.

The ceremony to add his name to the Memorial for fallen officers was held Thursday March 30.  His is the 99th name etched into the stone beneath the eternal flame at Jefferson Square Park. The flame burns to honor the city’s police officers who’ve died in the line of duty.

He had been with LMPD for 3 years.   Officer Rodman comes from a long line of public servants including his father and brother whom also serve our city as LMPD officers.

He was a 2005 graduate of Holy Cross High School, married with a son and newborn daughter.  An account has been opened at the Louisville Police Officers Credit Union in Rodman’s name.
