 To monitor the implementation of the Noise Compatibility Program, the Louisville Regional Airport Authority (LRAA) convened a Community Noise Forum (CNF) that includes designated representatives from all airport stakeholders, including:
The LRAA’s Board of Directors, LRAA Management, Louisville Air Traffic Control staff, Louisville Airport Affairs Committee, Kentucky Air National Guard, United Parcel Service, General Aviation community at SDF, University of Louisville, Louisville Metro Government, Airport Neighbors’ Alliance (ANA), Southern Indiana and community representatives from each quadrant bounding the airport.
Meetings are open to the public, and are normally held the fourth Monday of every other month at 6 p.m. at the LRAA’s Administration Building, 700 Administration Drive, just east of the passenger (departing flights) terminal.
The next meeting is scheduled for
Monday, March 27, 2017 at 6:00 pm

 The cleanup will take place:
- Saturday, April 15th
- Cleanup times of 8:00am – 12:00pm.
- (If the date we have set doesn't work for your group, that's OK, we will support any cleanup that takes place in the weeks surrounding April 15th.)

The Louisville Metro Office of Sustainability is pleased to
announce the launch of its Cool Roof Rebate Program, providing rebates to
property owners of $1 per square foot of cool roof installed, with a goal of
incentivizing at least 100,000 square feet of cool roofs. Buildings located in
Metro Council Districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 12, 14 and 15 are identified as high
heat island areas based on the Urban Heat Management Study (2016), and will
receive at least 60% of the available funding. Applications will be accepted
beginning on March 20, 2017 and the program will continue until funds are
depleted.
To apply for rebates from the Office of Sustainability’s Cool Roof
Rebate Program, applicants should complete the online application or email a completed
application along with a completed W-9 to sustainability@louisvilleky.gov.
The Office of Sustainability’s cool roof incentive funds are available on a first-come
first-served basis. Applications may be submitted before the project is
completed, but funds will not be dispersed until project completion.

Effective March 1, 2017, all property
located in Louisville Metro and occupied or offered for occupancy in exchange for
money or any other consideration must be registered with Louisville Metro
Government. Failure to register is subject to a fine up to $100 per day per
housing unit.
New owners must
register within thirty days of any ownership transfer. Any change in contact
information must be updated on the registry within thirty days of said change.
Registration requires
an account with Develop Louisville. Visit, https://www.louisvilleky.gov/government/codes-regulations,
to establish an account and access the registry, or to get detailed information
and instructions on registry requirements.

Metro Public Works (MPW) Roads and Operations Division works
year round patching potholes whenever they are reported. MPW encourages anyone
who spots a pothole in Louisville to report it to MetroCall as quickly as
possible. There are several ways to do it:

Louisville
Metro Parks has been selected to receive funding through the Mayor's
SummerWorks program, administered by YouthBuild Louisville. This
particular support will fund spring training and summer employment for
approximately 10 college-track young adults ages 18 to 21 who reside in urban
Louisville neighborhoods that are the focal point of the CCCN initiative.
Those trained
participants will then be offered summer employment to conduct
out-of-school time programs serving children through selected neighborhood
youth service providers and community centers.

March 28: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Robley Rex VA Medical
Center, will host a town hall meeting for Veterans and their families to
improve communication with, and hear directly from Veterans about their VA
healthcare and benefits.
Medical Center Director, Martin Traxler and Louisville Regional
Benefit Office Director, David Davis will be in attendance to address questions
and provide information relating to VA healthcare, benefits and claims.
Resource tables and staff members will also be available to provide valuable
information on a variety of VA programs and services. Veterans can apply
for VA healthcare or check on the status of a VA claim “on-the-spot”.
Free flu shots will be available for Veterans, as well.

Metro Department of Community Services. The Crisis Phase of LIHEAP runs until March 31,
or until available funds have been expended.

March 28, Diabetes
Awareness Day
In order to raise
awareness of diabetes and to connect persons at risk to health services,
several Neighborhood Places are hosting screening events. Nurses from
local hospitals will be on site to conduct blood glucose screening for
diabetes. Nurses will work with participants to connect them with
identified health care and educational services and programs. Sponsored
by Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness.

like-new shoes for students are being collected as part of the Mayor's Week of
Service. Donations of shoes can be accepted at the Clothing Assistance Program,
located inside the Central High School Football Stadium at 319 South 15th
Street, or at any Neighborhood Place (call MetroCall at 311 or 574-5000 to
locate the one nearest you).
We need new or like-new shoes for boys and girls in kindergarten
through grade twelve, with an emphasis on sneakers and athletic shoes.

Set in the beauty of our historic cabins on Kenwood Hill, campers will learn how to design and weave their own tapestries based on natural observation, create floral needle felt pieces, learn about natural dyeing and weave on Little Looms!

 Be a part of the Mayor's Week of Service by volunteering
with the Friends of the Louisville Free Public Library!
On April 25th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm we will sort and box books donated to
the library in the Centennial Room of the Main Library located at 301 York
Street. These books will be sent to the various Library Branch Friends groups
for upcoming book sales. This helps each branch earn funds to support
activities and events at the Libraries. For more information and to sign

We would also like to ask anyone that has new or gently used books (especially
children's books) to please donate them to the Main Library. You can take them
to the check-out desk and ask for a TAX DONATION form if you would like
one.

Metro
Parks and Recreation is encouraging the public to start the golf season at one
of Louisville’s nine municipal golf courses with a significant discount during
March. Through the “Swing Into Spring” promotion, golfers can use the discount
once at each course during March.
A link to the discount coupon can be found here. Those who have
signed up for Metro Parks’ e-news service can also check their e-mail inbox for
information on how to obtain the coupon.
The promotion can only be used after 12 p.m., Mondays through
Fridays from March 1 through March 31. The discount includes greens fees for 18
holes plus the use of a cart for each player, 18 and older. Discount is
good for a one time use at each of the nine courses.
