Award-winning country/folk band Old Crow Medicine Show (see below) will be
paying homage to the legendary Bob Dylan when they make a tour stop at
Iroquois Amphitheater on Friday, June 2. The platinum-selling band, who are
two-time Grammy Award winners, are embarking on a 29-date tour, during which
they will be playing Dylan’s iconic album Blonde On Blonde in its

 Develop
Louisville, a department of Louisville Metro Government, will hold a Public
Hearing on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Western
Library, 604 S. 10th Street. The focus of the hearing will be the use of
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) entitlement grant funds
for the next fiscal year (July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018). Entitlement
grant funding includes Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME
Investment Partnerships, Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and Housing
Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA). These grant funds are used
to provide decent, affordable housing, ensure suitable living environments, and
expand economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate income persons.

For the first time in more than 25 years, Metro Parks and
Recreation will be operating youth baseball and softball leagues at Wyandotte
Park in south Louisville for children ages 6-18. Sign-ups are available online
now at this link. Tee ball will be available for
children ages 6 and under. Volunteer coaches are needed. For more

spring around the corner don't forget to sign up to receive an automatic
notice, via text or email, when their street is scheduled to be swept by Metro
Public Works. The notices are meant to alert residents in advance that they
must find alternate parking on street sweeping day. No parking is allowed on

Crisis Phase of LIHEAP is available currently through March 31,
or until available funds have been expended. Residents wishing to apply must make
an appointment in advance utilizing the new, automated appointment system. The
toll free service is now available twenty four hours a day, seven days a
week. The caller can follow the prompts to get the information needed
and/or to schedule an appointment if available. The system provides a
confirmation number indicating that an appointment was successfully scheduled.

Cherokee Parkway
This project will require closing Cherokee Parkway from Willow Avenue to
Longest Avenue. Closure is scheduled until Tuesday February 28.

Louisville Metro Solid Waste and Habitat for Humanity’s
ReStore now accept partial cans of latex paint for recycling. The
collected paint will be re-blended for sale in Habitat ReStore locations in
Louisville. The program is made possible by a grant from the Kentucky

Serving
on a board or commission is a great way to utilize your talents. We hope you
will consider volunteering your time with us and encourage you to browse the
openings regularly for opportunities that would best utilize your experience
and knowledge. We have approximately 100 boards and commissions with
many areas of interest, including business and economic development, land
planning, parks and recreation, public health and public safety. It is
important that these boards have adequate representation from all areas of
town, including District 15 and Southwest Louisville, as they are responsible
for evaluating many important decisions that impact our city and its citizens. Please
