Teens Overcoming Pressure Summit
On Saturday, the National Hook-Up of Black Women. Inc.
(NHBW, Inc.) held its first National Teens Overcoming Pressure Summit. This
was a one day event of empowering interactive sessions between concerned
community organizations and agencies with teenagers 13-17 years of age. Topics ranged from bullying, college
preparation, financial fitness, and healthy bodies & relationships, to how
the law affects our youth, leadership development and public speaking.
SEEKING NON-CUSTODIAL FATHERS –
AGES 16 AND OLDER!!!!
We are seeking all
non-custodial fathers, ages 16 and older. Participants are
eligible to receive up to $220 for participating in the workshops
and/or the evaluations. If you are interested in attending an orientation

Welcome Unit Director Newburg
Boys and Girls Club
Please welcome Marvia Presley as our new Unit Director
for the Newburg Boys and Girls Club. Marvia started her assignment on
June 13, 2016 and comes to the organization with over 12 years experience
working with and on the behalf of children. Marvia was recently employed
with the Administrative Office of the Courts working as an advocate for
children in dependency, abuse and neglect cases. Marvia
is passionate about working with children and impacting their lives in the
classroom and beyond. She comes with a Master’s in Education from American
Intercontinental University and is currently working towards her Ph.D. as a
certified reading specialist. Marvia describes herself as fun
loving, passionate, and energetic.
