"Good for YOUR Body. Great for EVERY Body."

You should be seeing and hearing this message all throughout the community on TV, radio, in newspapers and on buses and billboards.  “Good for YOUR Body. Great for EVERY Body” is the theme of the new Mayor’s Healthy Hometown social marketing campaign.  Designed to show the community just how far we have come in working together to make the healthier choice the easier choice, the campaign focuses on a number of exciting local initiatives including healthier food in schools, easier access to physical activity through access to our parks and the Louisville Loop, and efforts to eliminate food deserts in our community through development of Healthy in a Hurry Corner Stores and Farmers Markets.

Developed with the help of local research including neighborhood focus groups, the campaign includes an easy to access website, www.comeoneverybody.org, which provides specific information about how to be more active and engaged in the community’s efforts to be healthier.

The campaign also includes many local residents so look closely…you may see one of your own friends or neighbors!

The campaign is made possible with support from the Department of Health and Human Services to help further the work of the Healthy Hometown Movement.

Congratulations To All Healthy Hometown Grant Recipients!
As part of the Mayor’s Healthy Hometown Partnership meeting in September, Health Department Director, Dr. LaQuandra Nesbitt, presented $50,000 in Healthy Hometown Grants to 18 worthy organizations. The grants, ranging from $1,240 to $5,000, will be used to help develop and promote physical activity and healthy eating programs in neighborhoods and to other targeted groups.  Since 2005, the Mayor’s Healthy Hometown has awarded nearly $450,000 to 90 organizations.
