- Make
sure fireworks are legal in your area before buying or using them.
- Keep
a bucket of water or a garden hose handy in case of fire or other mishap.
- Never
allow young children to play with or ignite fireworks.
- Avoid
buying fireworks that are packaged in brown paper because this is often a
sign that the fireworks were made for professional displays and that they
could pose a danger to consumers.
- Always
have an adult supervise fireworks activities. Sparklers burn at
temperatures of about 2,000 degrees - hot enough to melt some metals.

Councilwoman Marianne Butler and Councilman Dan Johnson are proud
to partner and bring a new farmer’s market to our area. The grand opening
is planned for Sunday, July 3rd. The market provides locally grown vegetables
and fruits for purchase. EBT, SNAP
and other electronic payments are all accepted.
South Louisville will have its own Buy Local Fair sponsored
by Louisville Independent Business Alliance. The Fair will be held July 9
at the Iroquois Amphitheater. Local Businesses are encouraged to apply
for booth space at this inaugural event. Contact L.I.B.A. for information http://www.keeplouisvilleweird.com/SouthPointsBLF

As the temperature climbs outside, fan donations are needed for
local seniors and persons with physical disabilities. KIPDA Area Agency on
Aging and Independent Living is joining forces with Louisville Metro Office for
Aging & Disabled Citizens (OADC) to collect and distribute electric fans to local seniors and disabled residents in our community.
