 Waverly Park is a 297-acre park located in southwestern Louisville Metro. The Waverly Dog Run is located at the end of Waverly Park Road. The run is approximately an acre and a half and is not divided so there is only one area for all dogs. The area is past the lake area and is in the woods.

May 19: Colon Cancer Screening Overview and Sign-ups Call 502-290-0288 for more information. A representative from the Colon Cancer Prevention Project will provide information on how to prevent colon cancer, sign up for a colonoscopy, and obtain materials for testing to indicate whether or not a colonoscopy is necessary. Information on other colon screening services can also be obtained if you are not eligible for this process.

May 24: Healthy Journey for Two Educational Baby Shower RSVP is required to Mendy Mason at 502-341-5400 or mmason@sevencounties.org. Join us at to explore the do’s and don’ts of a healthy pregnancy in a free, fun setting. Seven Counties and KIDSNow Plus will host an educational baby shower to share information on how to care for yourself and your baby while being pregnant. Pregnant attendees receive a baby tote filled with baby items and a gas/gift card, with more chances to win prizes like gift/layette set(s), bottle sets and more. Fathers are welcome.

Cultural Pass: The passes will be available at all 18 Louisville Free Public libraries and Metro Parks Community Centers, starting on May 23rd. They will be valid June 5th through August 6th.
Louisville Free Public Library: The library is launching Beanstack, an online parent-engagement tool that connects families with free reading recommendations, as well as educational programs like Summer Reading and the Cultural Pass. Beanstack allows parents, caregivers and educators to preregister online for those programs, and, by creating custom profiles for young readers, receive learning tips and recommendations of age-appropriate books available for checkout. Parents can also easily track their child’s reading progress on a personal dashboard, while their children can earn special badges for reaching goals in the Summer Reading program and participating in the Cultural Pass – all in a simple, fun and easy-to-use format! Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods: The office is partnering with the Library on a Summer Violence Prevention program, offering events and activities designed to keep teens active; sponsoring Waterfront Field Days with Hope by Hope. Metro Parks & Recreation: Among the highlights from Metro Parks & Recreation are Saturday hours (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) at nearly all community centers, where students can participate in fun activities such as archery, yoga and table tennis and Amazing Adventures 2 summer camps at nine sites beginning June 13th. Jefferson Memorial Forest, the Louisville Tennis Center and Historic Locust Grove also offer summer camps.
