Report potholes via Twitter, Louisvilleky.gov

This week Metro Louisville launched the 2016 Pothole Blitz initiative. Citizens have two new, and more convenient ways, report potholes throughout Metro Louisville. You can use the Twitter hashtag  #502pothole, or you can fill out a form which is located on the city’s website. 

Using Twitter to report a pothole in Louisville is simple. Start with the hashtag, #502pothole. Add the address or intersection nearest to the pothole, and send the tweet. Metro Public Works will take to from there.

Using the Louisvilleky.gov website is also easy. Click on the "Report a pothole" link at the top of the page, type in the location and click submit. Citizens can still call MetroCall 311 to report potholes, but they are likely to face long wait times during the pothole blitz period, due to so many people calling.

We patch potholes throughout the year, but the blitz is launched each March to rid the city’s streets of the many potholes left by the repeated freeze-thaw cycles of winter. Public Works crews proceed in a grid pattern patching potholes until all roads are covered, a process that should through April.
