Councilman Blackwell has been working with Metro Public Works Traffic Engineering since 2014 after being contacted by several constituents with concerns about this intersection. The new signalized intersection, along with pedestrian improvements, will make this intersection safer for motorists, pedestrians, and for the use of nearby Sanders Elementary students. Thank you to Metro Traffic Engineering and KYTC for their work!

Barkitecture 2016 is an event designed to raise awareness of the plight of homeless animals in our community through the innovative design of living structures for dogs. This is the premiere event, but the goal is to host an annual event that will eventually expand to living and play structures for cats as well.
Participants will be invited to submit completed dog houses in several categories. Attendees will be invited to bid on the dog houses through a silent auction. Adoptable dogs and cats will also be on hand in the hopes they find their forever homes. Monies raised from this event will go towards a new, much needed, state of the art shelter for this community. You can find more information here.

Louisville Metro Parks and Recreation will be hosting a series of public meetings at sites across the community. The public meeting sites were selected because an initiative or program offered at or near the site was gauged to have a high level of community interest and the public is encouraged to come and weigh in on any topic.
The meetings will typically start with a brief presentation and question and answer session facilitated by Director Ghose.
After the session ends, Metro Parks and Recreation staff will be available to meet citizens individually on a variety of topics for the remainder of the meeting.
- Wednesday, April 20th, 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Iroquois Amphitheater (1080 Amphitheater Road)
