Happy Holiday Season to All!

I would like to bring warm greetings to the residents of District 1.  I hope that this Holiday season finds each of you and your families blessed, loved, and happy.  As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, there is so much that we as individuals, friends, and the Community of District 1 have to be thankful about.

This year has brought new and exciting events as well as monumental changes to the City of Louisville, and to District 1.  I have spent this first year working hard for you, and fighting for the issues that I believe are most important to you- Public Safety, Health, Spending of Our Taxes, Services to Seniors,  Economic Development, and leading with Compassion.  These themes have guided me throughout the year, and have shaped the programs, activities, and policies that I have supported and championed.

I am pleased that the Metro Council recently passed a Resolution urging the Kentucky State Assembly to raise the minimum wage across the state.  We have seen businesses and affordable and adequate housing come to District 1.  I am still committed to finding a sustainable funding source for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund.  We continue to explore the options for the Urban Services Districts, and are committed to making sure that we are united and that all of our constituents can receive our city’s services.  I am pleased that District led the entire city and is host to the first non stationary needle exchange city in the county.  We are working hard to combat drug addiction, Hepatitis C, and HIV.

We have worked closely with organizations and groups all across the entire district, crisscrossing from Lake Dreamland to Parkland, and everywhere in between.  We are one district, and I am committed to speaking for you all.

Thank you for your trust and the confidence that allows me to proudly serve each of you.  I look forward to continuing to build our relationship and to strengthening our district in 2016 and beyond.  If anything is ever needed, you may reach me at my office at 502-574-1101, or by email at Jessica.green@louisvilleky.gov.

We are continuing to build, and I look forward to strengthening our community together.

Sincerely,

Councilwoman Jessica E. Green
