Where Do I Vote on Nov. 3?

Many precinct polling locations have changed in fact, twenty-five across Jefferson County are being moved for the November 3rd General Election; mostly for reasons related to deficiencies at the former precinct location in the May primary, such as not having enough parking or accessibility issues, county election officials have announced.  In some cases, the new locations are more centrally located within the precinct.

District 21 Locations

I-115 — From Beechmont Community Center, 205 W. Wellington Ave., to Rutherford Elementary, 301 W. Southland Blvd.

I-140 — From Beechmont Baptist Church, 4574 S. Third St., to Salvation Army, 1010 Beecher St.

J-148 — From Beechmont Baptist Church, 4574 S. Third St., to Rutherford Elementary, 301 W. Southland Blvd.

Everyone in Jefferson County can check voter registration status and find out his or her November 3 voting location here: www.http//ags2.lojic.org/WhereDoIVote.

Individuals who will be out of the county on Election Day may vote early at the Urban County Government Center , 810 Barret Avenue,  Monday through Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, now through November 2,  and on Saturdays, October 24 and 31, from  9:00am-2:00pm.  More information about absentee voting is here: Absentee Voting

New Garbage, Recycling Carts Arriving

Manufacturing shortage delayed orders!

The long wait for replacement or additional garbage and recycling carts is just about over. We accepted delivery September 30 on 504 garbage carts. We expect to receive 1,008 additional 95-gallon garbage carts plus 1,512 95-gallon recycling carts and 2,000 recycling bins over the course of October. That would mark the end of a backlog that existed through the summer because of a shortage of a key resin used in manufacturing the carts. We have begun distributing carts beginning with the oldest requests. For information about replacement or additional carts, click here.

"Ville Mega Adopt"

Sponsored by MAS & Ky Humane Society

Louisville Metro Animal Services and the Kentucky Humane Society are gearing up for what's expected to be Louisville's biggest pet adoption weekend on record.

They're calling it the "Ville Mega Adopt".

WHEN: Saturday, October 17 & Sunday, October 18

WHERE: LMAS & KY Humane Society

This Saturday and Sunday both agencies are waiving adoption fees for all animals. There is still a fee for licensing.

Both shelters are currently over capacity.

They've taken in more than 1,200 dogs and cats in the past month alone.

The current adoption record of 186 pets was set in 2014 during the "Empty the Shelter" event. Organizers are hoping to beat that number this weekend.

Residential Rebates

Louisville Metro Residency Requirement

The Lawn Care for Cleaner Air rebate program is open only to residents of Metro Louisville/Jefferson County, Ky. You must provide a copy of your proof of residency (i.e. your driver’s license) to the participating dealer when purchasing new equipment or to APCD when submitting your mail-in rebate request. Failure to do so will result in not receiving a rebate.

Two Ways to Get a Rebate

  1. Through a participating dealer. Participating dealers give the rebates up front, as dollars off of the purchase price. This is the fastest way to get a lawn care rebate!
  2. Individually. If you are purchasing your eligible equipment at a non-participating dealer, use this Rebate Request Form to request a Bonus or Standard Rebate. If your rebate request meets all the requirements, you should receive your rebate within 60 days.
