Major sanitary sewer upgrades are continuing in the Camp Taylor Neighborhood. The first phase is just about complete with the second phase anticipated to start early next year. Clay Bostic and Christian Miller from MSD were on hand to answer questions from residents. Work progression and traffic issues were the most common concerns. I'd like to extend a big thanks to Clay and Christian for their time and expertise.

 A World War I Monument placed in honor of the foreign born soldiers naturalized at Camp Zachary Taylor in 1918, will be re-dedicated in a ceremony after it's move to it's new location this past summer. The Monument was placed in 1921 to recognize "The Naturalization Tree", which was the symbol of Freedom to thousands of foreign born nationals who enlisted in the US Armed Forces during World War I, and were sworn in as US citizens following their service in our armed forces.

The Re-Dedication Ceremony at Camp Zachary Taylor Park will be on September 20th, 2015, at 4:30 pm, and will continue with a neighborhood picnic and ice cream social. All are welcome for this free event.
 Road work has begun on Trevilian Way. New drains and curbing have been installed along the curve near Newburg Road. This improved drainage will protect the new pavement which will be completed by the end of the month.

 The 3rd Annual Movie Night in Emerson Park (corner of Hickory and Sylvia Sts.) featuring The Addams Family!
The event starts at 7 with food, snacks, ghost stories, and a meet and greet with Gomez and Morticia Addams.
The movie starts at 9. We've upgraded the screen so it is bigger, louder, and more spooktacular than ever before!
Fun, free event for the whole family (even Uncle Fester!)!
Please bring blankets or chairs for your viewing pleasure.
 The Annual Brightside Fall Community Clean-up is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th!
Keeping our community clean and inviting is an important job and it takes help from you to make it happen.
Brightside is once again organizing the community-wide event and they need volunteers to help!
You can sign-up individuals, sports teams, or church & recreational groups to participate.
Volunteers are provided with trash bags and gloves. Special T-Shirts are available on a first register, first served basis. So sign-up today!
