Set-out for Junk Pickup starts today and runs through Monday for residents of the Urban Services District (the old City of Louisville taxing district). Crews will be operating throughout that part of the 26th District in the Urban Services District all next week making the pick-ups. Members of the Metro Council are sponsoring a free summer concert series at Highview Park for the fourth straight year based on the success of the former Music in the Metro. A different concert will be held every other Friday from June through August and the event is open to the public, family friendly, and free. Local vendors will be on hand with a variety of food options, and people are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the show. Highview Park is located at 7201 Outer Loop, (enter through Briscoe Lane.) Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. and music will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Seven productions planned for the summer of 2015
Louisville – It was a great kick off weekend as Central Park once again plays host to a summer tradition now in its 55th year. Following a very successful 2014 Kentucky Shakespeare once again presents Shakespeare in Central Park featuring 8 productions over 10 weeks totaling 55 performances.
Once again all plays will be presented free of charge.
The 2015 season runs June 3rd – August 9th
Last summer, Kentucky Shakespeare served a record 27,000 people in Central Park, 50,000 in the schools in 58 counties during the year, and 2,000 in the 18-park Shakespeare in the Parks tour which got under way this past spring. Several Metro Council members provided sponsorship of the 18 park tour this year.
