On July 23rd, Councilwoman Monarrez shared the most recent District 4 Odor Update from The Division of Water Quality. The Division will continue to send status reports no more than 60 days apart, with updates in between only if there are any significant occurrences or progress. The most recent update includes near-term (summer 2024) and long-term improvements to the West Hickman Waste Water Treatment Plant and can be read HERE. All previous Odor Updates are archived HERE. |
Sections of the foliage along north-bound Nicholasville Road between the entrance to Kings Garden up to Porter Memorial Baptist Church have been trimmed. Councilwoman Monarrez coordinated with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to have this work completed. She advocated for this project because the overgrowth was obstructing the view of drivers. Councilwoman Monarrez is committed to increasing traffic safety throughout District 4. If you have a traffic safety issue that you'd like to bring to her attention, please email bmonarrez@lexingtonky.gov or call (859) 280-8241.

The final touches on both pedestrian refuges were recently completed, including enhanced crosswalks! These refuges are located at the intersections of Rose Hurst Drive & Southpoint Drive and Tiverton Way & La Rue. Many requests for yellow curbing throughout District 4 have also been completed, and there are several other projects in the works. Councilwoman Monarrez will continue to share those updates, and she asks that any additional District 4 yellow curbing requests be directed to her office. |
