Woodcraft Industries Receives Governor's Safety and Health Award
FRANKFORT, Ky. (September 12, 2019) -Today, Secretary David A. Dickerson announced Woodcraft Industries of Bowling Green has earned the Governor’s Safety and Health Award.
“I am pleased to recognize Woodcraft Industries of Bowling Green,” said Labor Cabinet Secretary David Dickerson. “Being able to give a Governor’s Safety and Health Award to this company for the first time speaks to their dedication of producing wonderful products and keeping employees safe.”
Woodcraft Industries of Bowling Green was started in 1945 and is headquartered in St. Cloud, Minn. The company opened its Kentucky facility in 1995. They have 501,427 of hours worked by 86 employees without any time lost due to illness or injury.
“This accomplishment is a milestone for our facility,” said Woodcraft Industries management in a statement. “We are thrilled to receive this recognition for our workplace safety practices. Woodcraft strives daily to continuously improve and provide the kind of culture that fosters safety at the forefront. While this is a great accomplishment, our greatest achievement is that our employees are able to leave work injury free.
Today, Woodcraft Industries is one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of hardwood and laminated components.
The Governor’s Safety and Health Award is given to employers and employees, who together have achieved the minimum number of hours worked without experiencing a lost-time injury or illness at their establishment. The number of hours without a lost-time injury or illness is dependent on the amount of employees, and an organization can receive the award again in subsequent years providing there were no recordable injuries or illnesses resulting in lost work days.
