Permit Required Confined Spaces 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
This course explains regulations regarding entry into and working in confined spaces. Topics include confined spaces found in the workplace and the hazards associated with them, the regulatory impact of the 1910.146 standard, developing a written program, training employees, permit systems, rescue, and employee participation.
Bloodborne Pathogens 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
This course covers requirements of 29 CFR 1910.1030 and the measures which must be implemented to protect employees from the hazards of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials containing bloodborne pathogens, such as hepatitis B virus, (HBV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Topics of discussion include applicable definitions; infection control; engineering and work practice controls, including universal precautions, personal protective equipment, and housekeeping; medical evaluations; warning signs and labels; and training of employees.
Fall Protection Part 1 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Part 1 of the Fall Protection course will cover recent changes in the OSHA Federal and State Fall Protection standards for general industry and construction including the new and proposed changes to the ANSI Fall Protection Standards System. Topics include the requirements to provide a fall protection system, the description and requirements for the various types of fall protection systems, training, and associated requirements.
Fall Protection Part 2 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Part 2 of the Fall Protection course will provide hands on training in Fall Protection Systems and include the care, use, inspections, cleaning, storage and certification of the components of Personal Fall Arrest Systems (PFAS) and Fall Restraint Systems as well as Retractable Life Lines, Lanyards and anchorages. Students should be prepared to don and doff harnesses, ladder belts and attached devices such as retractable lanyards and lanyards. Attendees are encouraged to bring gloves rated for rigging and climbing to use while handling devices. There is no climbing in the class.
Injury / Illness Recordkeeping 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
This course covers the basic requirements of 29 CFR 1904 and will familiarize attendees with the OSHA 300A, 300, 301 and equivalent forms. Proper reporting of injury/illness and fatalities based on state and federal requirements will be included in the presentation.
Eyewash Requirements 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
This course is a short overview of the specific requirements for employers to provide emergency eyewash and shower equipment. Participants will learn what constitutes an emergency eyewash and shower and which standards require the employer to install such equipment. Topics covered include the requirements set forth in ANSI Z358.1, 803 KAR 2:310 Sec 2, 803 KAR 2:015, and the associated aspects of personal protective equipment.
Asbestos Awareness 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM
This course discusses the health hazards associated with exposure to asbestos fibers and emphasizes the Kentucky occupational safety and health standards related to the recognition, evaluation, and control of occupational exposure to asbestos. Topics of discussion include air sampling, personal protective equipment, engineering controls, work practices, training, and medical surveillance of employees.
Ergonomics 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
This course provides participants with an introduction to ergonomics and Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTDs). Topics of discussion include disorders associated with ergonomic risk factors, the costs of CTDs to employers and employees, the proposed ergonomics standard, and the elements of an effective ergonomics program. Additionally, case studies will be utilized to demonstrate current methods to recognize, evaluate, and control ergonomic problems.
Personal Protective Equipment 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
This course provides an overview of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as covered under the 29 CFR 1910.132-138 standard, and is intended for individuals who may be required to use PPE while performing their assigned work duties. Topics include an explanation of the PPE standards, how to properly use and care for PPE, and the limitations of PPE. Guidance will also be provided on how to perform the required PPE hazard assessment for each job in the workplace.

Walking Working Surfaces 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Attendees can learn about the requirements carried by 1910, Subpart D. Included in this class are the requirements for working on elevated surfaces from fixed and portable ladders. Methods for identifying and correcting hazards typical to the general industry workplace are presented with thought provoking classroom discussion.
Basic Electrical Safety 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
This course covers the basic requirements surrounding the approval, installation, and use of electrical equipment and devices. The course is built around OSHA standards found in 1910.303 to .305. Includes a discussion of OSHA and industry standards as they relate to the installation of electrical equipment, commonly cited approval and installation violations, an overview of the equipment approval process, cord marking requirements, and basic hazards found in commonly made electrical wiring issues. Involves group-based and hands-on learning activities, including flexible cord marking designation.
