How Has The Kentucky Labor Cabinet Evolved?

The Kentucky Labor Cabinet's mission is to advance a well-trained workforce, protect the worker, compensate the injured, promote employer excellence, and ensure Kentucky's place as the hub of workplace innovation and distinction in America and around the world.

The inaugural Kentucky Registered Apprenticeship Summit brought apprenticeship stakeholders together with business, education, and civic leaders from across the Commonwealth to discuss ways this proven training model can transform our state’s workforce.

 Kentucky Businesses Set All-Time Low Occupational Injury Rate
December, 2017
Officials from the Kentucky Labor Cabinet hailed recent reports by the federal government that show continued improvement in workplace safety in Kentucky, including the lowest rate of nonfatal incidents recorded in the Commonwealth’s history.

 Litigation Management System Creation
July, 2017
The LMS project will: Provide stakeholders the ability to initiate and administer a claim online, including web submission of forms; Provide dashboards to key stakeholders for the management of workers’ compensation cases; Replace paper documents currently filed with the Department of Workers’ Claims; And, provide claims management support to Administrative Law Judges and the Workers’ Compensation Board and provide increased confidentiality of sensitive information.
