KLE Dispatches occasionally provides notices or announcements of training offered or hosted by various agencies and private companies. An interested agency should inquire about the training prior to enrolling in any training announced herein. Unless noted otherwise, no certification, accreditation, or endorsement of training is intended or implied by inclusion in this document.

2021 SEXUAL ASSAULT KIT INITIATIVE ASSEMBLY OF CITIES The 2021 Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) Assembly of Cities will be held virtually April 27-29, 2021. Registration will be open to both SAKI grantees and non-grantees. Registration will close on April 15 or once the maximum event capacity has been reached. This year's meeting will cover topics such as using social media to investigate cases, expert testimony, serial offenders and vulnerable populations, responding to sexual assault in homeless populations, research in SAKI, moving beyond the sexual assault kit, vicarious trauma, and more. Those interested in the training do not have to attend the whole session, but can participate in the sessions that interest them. A draft agenda is available here. COLLISION RECONSTRUCTION UPDATE COURSES The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team will be hosting 12 two-day collision reconstruction update courses throughout the state from May until September. The courses are open to any officer who is an accident reconstructionist. The two-day courses will cover a myriad of related topics, including operation of the Racelogic V-Box Sport to measure roadway friction and acceleration rates, conducting time and distance calculations with Event Data Recorder evidence and nighttime photography. Outside agencies who attend the training will need to bring note-taking materials, a calculator, a computer capable of running Trimble Reveal, power cables and a mouse. The courses will be taught on the following dates:
- May 24-25 at the KSP Academy, 360 Coffee Tree Lane, Frankfort
- May 26-27 at the KSP Academy in Frankfort
- June 28-29 at KSP Post 13, 100 Justice Drive, Hazard
- June 30 – July 1 at KSP Post 13
- July 12-13 at the Richmond Police Training Center, 2249 Enterprise Drive, Richmond
- July 14-15 at the Richmond Police Training Center
- 2-3 at the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, 701 West 7th Street, Hopkinsville
- 4-5 at the Christian County Sheriff’s Office
- 23-24 at KSP Post 4, 820 New Glendale Road, Elizabethtown
- 25-26 at KSP Post 4

SUPERVISING PATROL CRITICAL INCIDENTS Co-hosted by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office and the National Tactical Officers Association will be offered June 7-8, 2021, in Madisonville. This course is designed to provide patrol supervisors with the information and tools needed to manage a critical incident prior to the arrival of SWAT. Understanding the methodology used in managing a dynamic tactical problem, and the four primary types of critical incidents involving an adversary will give the patrol supervisor the tools needed to succeed during these events.
