Enjoy Educational Programs at Salato this Fall
Fall is an exciting season for many reasons, so while making plans for you and your family, consider a visit to Salato! Our Conservation Educators are delivering programs that cover a wide assortment of topics and allow visitors to enjoy up close looks at raptors, witness enrichment programs and training sessions with bear and bobcats, and see what a snake really feels like to the touch!
Those planning their visit in advance can view daily programs "at a glance", as well as descriptions and times, by visiting Salato's online activities calendar.
Registration is not required unless indicated, and all programs are free with paid admission into the center. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 5-18, and 4 and under are admitted free. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the door.

Now in its 50th year, one of the main goals of National Hunting and Fishing Day is to recruit new hunters and anglers by encouraging participation and increasing public awareness of the connection between hunting, angling, and conservation.

1. Visit Salato for FREE admission!
People of all ages are invited to celebrate hunting, fishing, and the Great Outdoors with us on Saturday, Sept. 24.
2. Participate in activities from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Eastern Time)
- Try your hand at basic archery from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
- Watch a hunting dog demonstration at 10 a.m.
- Kids casting activities from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Listen to an Elk Talk (and get a look at our herd) at 2:30 p.m.
3. Buy a hunting or fishing license
Purchase your license at Salato on National Hunting and Fishing Day and get a free Salato sticker! Through self-imposed fees and excise taxes, sportsmen and women have raised more than $57 billion - that's more than $100,000 every 30 minutes being raised for conservation.
4. Make Plans to go hunting or fishing
While at Salato on September 24th, fisheries biologists and conservation officers will be available to answer questions about hunting and fishing opportunities. Pick up a fall hunting guide at Salato. Be safe. Follow posted guidelines and hunt within the season.
