The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is here to help.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 10, 2020) - New to deer hunting? The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is here to help.

We’re staffing a special Deer Hunter Helpline from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Eastern) on Thursday, Nov. 12, and Friday, Nov. 13. Call us with your questions at 800-858-1549. We’ll connect you with an experienced deer hunter who can help you.

We’re here to answer your basic questions about deer hunting: Where should you look for deer? Should you stay in one place or move around? How come so many people hunt from trees? Where do you aim?

No question is too basic. We’re here to offer you encouragement and support so you can have a great experience in the field.
